The problem they came to us with
How can we create a sustainable, dignified food re-distribution system in Surrey?

Our work
Building on previous SHIFT Collaborative work with Food Security groups in Surrey, this project focused on using developmental and outcome evaluation to update and implement a theory of change and establish a viable food recovery and distribution system for Sources.

SHIFT Collaborative developed an evaluation framework and facilitated annual data collection and sense-making to support adaptive action changes and improvements in four integrated strategies: raising awareness of food rescue and security issues and impacts, establishing a warehouse and distribution system to move more food out to more non-profit partners, establishing/integrating a community harvest program and strengthening employment, volunteerism and diversified revenue streams for long term sustainability.
