Since 2006, the Island Health Community Food Action Initiative (CFAI) has been supporting place-based community-led solutions to improve food security in seven regional food security hubs across Vancouver Island. In 2019, Island Health is working with Kerri Klein and Deirdre Goudriaan from SHIFT Collaborative to undertake an evaluation of the CFAI program with the purpose of identifying the efficacy and impact of this funding program in achieving the desired outcomes for improving food security in the region.
