The Oceanside Health and Wellness Network (OHWN) has identified two issues that are a growing concern for the region: 1) Child wellness and food security; and 2) mental health supports for youth and young adults. In November 2017 OHWN convened over 50 community partners and partnered with Kerri Klein from SHIFT Collaborative to design and facilitate a forum to discuss the root causes of these issues and build capacity for collective action. Kerri facilitated a second community forum in February 2018 to continue building on the momentum for collaborative community approaches to respond to these priority issues. (The Forum report can be found here).
