How might we strengthen and scale community-based access to and use of academic research?
Our work
The Community Scholars Program (CSP) is comprised of four B.C. universities who have agreements with seven publishers to provide free or low cost access to research for 500 non-profits and community organizations. In collaboration with SFU Library, SHIFT Collaborative co-led the development of a theory of change for CSP and then a scaling strategy to scale CSP’s reach outside of B.C. and with Indigenous organizations and scholars. SHIFT Collaborative conducted background research, designed and facilitated multiple engagement sessions with the CSP planning team, and drafted strategies for review with the team.
