How can we ensure equity, diversity and inclusion are centered throughout the development of a provincial Disaster and Climate Risk and Resilience Assessment?
Our work
We worked in collaboration with Ebbwater Consulting Inc. and Ursus Resilient Strategies Inc. to conduct a literature review of international, national, and B.C.-specific best practices for integrating equity, diversity and inclusion into disaster and climate risk assessments and related policies. We also held an engagement session with provincial and federal data holders to further address gaps and methodological considerations, and identify opportunities for information sharing. SHIFT Collaborative co-authored a final report outlining key findings and recommendations for the province.
